We were welcomed back home Monday afternoon by sunny skies and nearly 60 degree weather.
By Tuesday afternoon, it was like this:
Note: the patches of sidewalk are a result of nearly an entire bag of de-icer!
Last summer I was visiting with a friend who grew up out here, we were talking about how mild the summer had been – and really, aside from one very hot and sticky week (emphasis on the very sticky), the weather had not been too terrible. She predicted a long and cold winter – and her prediction seems to have to come true. As the weather has still not risen above the low-20’s and has actually been sticking to the high-teens for the most part – none of the snow has melted – and there is a slight chance it will be topped off tomorrow.
The cold has come to stay just in time for Erin to participate in a polar plunge tomorrow in support of the Special Olympics. Pictures will definitely follow!
