That’s the sound Erin’s new scooter makes.
Erin had been talking about getting a scooter to ride to the metro for a while now, and so one day while she was at work – I went and bought it for her. She (literally) cried when she found out. I think that is the response everyone wants when they give someone a present. I got it, once. I need to store that in my memory.
Finding out that I bought the helmet to go with the scooter – not to protect her from random head injuries:
We went to pick it up on Wednesday – and she rode it to the metro for the first time this morning.
College Scooters – where we bought the scooter – is in College Park near the University of Maryland. It was opened in 2010 by Navid Mazloom. Navid, a business student at U of M, saw a market for a friendly, reliable scooter store and repair shop after he had a couple of bad experiences with purchasing scooters online. Today is my last day of work before a four day weekend for Christmas. It has been a looooooong stressful week, and I am anxious to start enjoying a few work-free days. Although, I’ll be putting together at least one piece of IKEA furniture. To start the weekend off right we are heading to our favorite Mexican place for “apocolyspe cocktails”.
