On Saturday, Erin attended the OutServe – SLDN National Dinner and Gala fundraiser. OutServe-SLDN is an organization that supports the rights of LGBT people serving in the military. As Erin is a Navy veteren, this is a cause which hits close to home. She had a great time, and we are already planning to go next year as well!

As I wasn’t planning to be in Doha this long, I was also going to attend the gala, but alas – I am still in Doha! So, Erin posted the ticket on VetTix – a non-profit that collects tickets to events to give to active duty military and veterens for free. She has gotten tickets from this organization before, and even got free tickets to meet Kathy Griffin. We were wondering who would be Erin’s mystery date, and luckily it turned out to be this guy – who Erin said was really fun:

All in all she had a great time – and we got to raise some money for a great cause!

I’ve go about 10 days to go here in Doha – and am looking forward to coming home! An update from Doha will follow soon!
